The Smiths 

The Smiths were an English band formed in Manchester in 1982. The band consisted of vocalist Morrissey, guitarist Johnny Marr, bassist Andy Rourke, and drummer Mike Joyce. Critics have called them the most important alternative rock band to emerge from the British independent music scene of the 1980's.

The Smiths had several singles reach the UK top 20 and all four of their studio albums reached the UK top five, including one which topped the charts. They won significant following and remain cult favorites, although they had limited commercial success outside the UK while they were still together. The band broke up in 1987 and have turned down several chances to reunite.

The band's focus on a guitar, bass, and drum sound, and their fusion of 1960's rock and post-punk, were a repudiation of synthesizer-based contemporary dance-pop - the style popular in early 1980's. Morrissey's lyrics combined themes about ordinary people with a mordant sense of humor.

The group's cover artwork had distinctive visual style and often featured images of film and pop stars, usually in duo tone. The covers of singles rarely featured any text other than the bands name, and the band itself did not appear on the cover of any UK release. The choice of cover subjects reflected Morrissey's interest in cult film.

Reflection: I think that both character and intellect are important. Intellect and character are useful in life. Whenever I think of intellect and character is that both are needed, both make what you are.

Reflection: I think that freedom and independence aren't really that different things. Freedom and independence are both about liberty and of doing what you feel like doing. The fact is that it can only exist when you do what is right and get away from what is wrong.

Opportunities outside of the U.S

Germany- Germany has one of the lowest unemployment rates in the EU. There's a shortage of skilled workers in many professions in Germany. These include qualified engineers  (mechanical, automotive, electrical and building,) scientists, mathematicians, IT specialist and both hospital doctors and GPs.

Ireland- The key sectors of the Irish economy are services, industry and exportation. Trade and exportation have grown hugely in recent years. The country is one of the worlds largest software exporters thanks to low taxation, its geographical location and the fact that English is an official language of the country. 

Russia- There is a strong TEFL market in Russia, but you'll need a good knowledge of Russian, particularly outside Moscow.The main opportunities are working for an international firm, teaching English, or working for a non-governmental organization (NGO). Russia has more academic graduates than any country in Europe, so there is no shortage of candidates to fill graduate positions. 

REFLECTION: I think that having a job/career outside of the U.S is a huge opportunities. You get to experience the different type of culture. You also meet new people and try their food and their religious culture. Many countries in Europe are wealthy and have a huge wage.

I think that the fact that a typical football team gave a chance to a kid who has a disorder. It is truly impacting to think that at least for a moment the kid gets to be choosen and taste the glory for some minutes but something he will remember for life.

Something I learned about this is that no matter if your team wins or loses, doesnt matter whos in the team either, what will always count is the effort and how proud you feel. Oliver was certainly happy and he got to be someone this time, he got the chance to meet friendships and simply enjoy of this.

Reflection: I think that you can be great or decide to be bad. Truth is no matter what you choose, people will still judge and picture you the way they want to. For those who are great will cause honor and a good friend. If you choose to be bad you will just cause harn to those who surround you.

All For Good is a hub for volunteerism and community service on the internet, and a service of Points Of Light. They envisiom the site as a meeting place for organizations and indivifuals, providing a communal platform that allows people to see where change is needed, and makes it easy for them to engage. It is powered by the largest online database of volunteer opportunities, All For Good is connecting Americans with nonprofits both large and small.

In this online volunteering system you get to choose between many of choices to volunteer. You can pick a support group leader who helps people get over their grief and sadness. Also, you can pick a non profit organization that helps people with Alzheimers.

Depending what you decide to volunteer in you will have different opportunities, but many of the organizations are non profit and give you certificates proving you helped, free meals, and a good time. Even if you are a teen and decide to volunteer the fact that you helped will make an extraordinary difference in your resume for college.
