The Beginning Of Basketball

1.James Naismith invented basketball

2. He began to develop the sport at the International YMCA Training School (now Springfield College) in Springfield Massachusetts.

3.The year he invented it was in the late 1981

4.The way he invented the sport was analyzing many things, such as the most popular games of those times (rugby, lacrosse, soccer, football, hockey, and baseball; Naismith noticed that the hazards of a small fast ball and concluded that the big soft soccer ball was safest.

5.He invented basketball because the athletes needed a sport to play indoors for the winter because it was too cold to play baseball or football outside.

6.What were the circumstances at the beginning? At the beginning of the creation of the game it had 13 basic rules.

7.What was it like at the start? In contrast to modern basketball, the players played 9 versus 9, handled a soccer ball, not a basketball, and instead of shooting two hoops, the goals were a pair of peach baskets.

8. The type of shoots that we done were into a basket of peaches and to make a score you had to introduce the ball into the basket. The concept of dribbling was not introduced until later.

9.The way basketball is different today than when it started was that the original rules do not include what is known today as dribble.
